Year 4

Class Name: Oak

Year Group: 4

As our pupils enter Year 4, they pride themselves on being the eldest of those in Lower Key Stage 2. Having experienced a full year in Key Stage 2 and being over half way through their primary school careers, Year 4 can set a good example and support those new to the Key Stage.

From the outset, Year 4 are instilled with the ethos that “if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well”. You will therefore, be expected to demonstrate a conscientious approach to all aspects of your learning. In return, you will be rewarded with a personal sense of pride in all that you do in school.

Your success will come from your developing skills of determination and resilience in class. Of course, you will continue to have the opportunity to earn House Points for your chosen team, knowing that your efforts are contributing to both your own academic developments and the success of your team in school.

Year 4 promises to be a year full of exciting and engaging curriculum Learning Challenges which include finding out about different cities, who the Romans were, life in Victorian and Norman Britain and why Sheffield is a “cool city” to live in. And if that doesn’t excite you, then learning about habitats, electricity and teeth and eating certainly will.

We look forward to having you in our class – are you ready for the challenges that await?
